The Drift Car
Gotta get a post going on the drift car, it’s not much yet but a pile of parts. But what isn’t right now, eh?
It all started the first time I was invited to fly at an event with TSK Moterwerks. I went down with a mutual friend, and all my equipment, and we ended up having a trailer failure! Very long wild story later, I drove the car to the track and then the owner let me learn to drift in it there. I had so much fun, and wanted a car myself so bad.
Fast forward 4 years or so, and that car ended up a shell with a good friend of mine. And he let me have it!
Meet Felicia!
There’s not a lot here, but it’s a start! And I managed to get the vast majority of parts I’ll need. My friend and I went to the junkyard and found a perfect m52:
Then another friend of mine sourced a ZF 5-Speed for me, and a big handful of other miscellaneous parts just for drift cars. In the mean time I made a jig for drift knuckles and converted some spare knuckles to stock ackermann with angle that look like they’re going to work pretty well:
I have since gotten some fresh tie rod ends on, as well as lower coilovers, whels, and tires. But I’ve had a hard time getting pictures as it’s living at my friends shop right now. It got put on a bit of a back burner while the truck get’s it’s frame in order.
One day it will go together, and there are plans for boost 😀
Stay tuned…
